Staff from ED and ICU were invited for an orientation and training day with the Irish Coastguard crew of Rescue 118 in Strandhill.
The Irish Coastguard provides a fantastic service to the ED in Sligo. It has helped save dozens of lives over the past few years, not only in rescuing people in difficulty, but also in helping us transport very ill patients to specialist units in other hospitals. In particular, it has become an essential component of the STEMI protocol for our region.
